Фразові дієслова в англійській мові
Фразові дієслова (Phrasal verbs) – це дієслова, які мають головне дієслово та частку, які разом створюють одне значення (e.g. a plane takes off from the airport; an adult looks after a child). Коли ви слухаєте та читаєте англійською, ви зустрінете дуже багато фразових дієслів, тому важливо дізнатися про їх значення та про те, як вони вживаються. В англійській мові використовується понад 5000 фразових дієслів і споріднених форм іменників і прикметників.
Що таке фразові дієслова?
Фразові дієслова — це дієслова, які складаються з дієслова та одного або декількох прийменників (рідше прислівників)

Particles – це маленькі слова, які ви вже знаєте як прийменники або прислівники. Ось деякі з найпоширеніших часток фразового дієслова: about (a)round at away back down for in into off on out over through to up
Що потрібно знати про фразові дієслова?
Спочатку вам потрібно знати значення всього фразового дієслова як одиниці. Наприклад: look means to use your eyes and up means the opposite of down, but the phrasal verb look up can have several different meanings:
- Look the word up in the dictionary (Знайдіть слово в словнику) [look up = search for information in a book/computer]
- I’ll look you up next time I’m in London (Я пошукаю вас наступного разу, коли буду в Лондоні) [look up = visit someone you have not seen for a long time]
- Things are looking up (Справи покращуються) [look up = improve]
Далі вам потрібно знати граматичні моделі фразових дієслів, напр. чи дієслово приймає об’єкт. Зверніть увагу, що sth означає щось; sb означає когось.
