Phrasal verbs with “DRY” in English

Dry [draɪ] — often used as an adjective or a regular verb.  It can also be used as a noun. Let’s consider examples of the most common phrasal verbs with “dry“:

  • dry off 
    • The kids played in the pool and then dried off in the sun
    • Because the person may not dry off and catch a cold, so the disease has only become more difficult
  •  dry oneself off
    • I got out of the water and dried myself off with the towel
  • dry up
    • During the drought the river dried up
    • I started to dry up the cup very slowly
    • Finally on the planet will only microorganisms that will last another billion years until, until completely dry up the oceans
